Compress images in your browser
Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or ICO. It stays in this tab, and we send you to the matching compressor.
or browse your device. Batches welcome, we detect the format
Pick a format, or drop a file and we will.
Each card is a live compressor. Same privacy model as the rest of the site: the file is processed in this tab and never sent anywhere.
Compress JPG
Set the quality you want and see the result straight away. Your photo never leaves this tab.
Open the JPG toolCompress PNG
Palette reduction and a real PNG optimiser, running on this device. Transparency survives intact.
Open the PNG toolCompress WEBP
Already the modern format. Squeeze it further with quality and size controls, animation and all, running on this device.
Open the WEBP toolCompress GIF
A GIF optimizer that leaves the animation alone. Reduce GIF size by cutting colours, thinning frames or resizing, all on this device.
Open the GIF toolCompress BMP
A bitmap stores every pixel raw. We rewrite it as a palette with run-length coding, which is the only real compression the format has.
Open the BMP toolCompress ICO
An .ico is a bundle of images. We rewrite each one as an optimised PNG and drop the entries your visitors never request.
Open the ICO toolHow to compress images
Drop the images
One photo or a folder of them. We read the bytes, not just the extension, so a mislabelled file still finds the right tool.
Land on the matching compressor
A JPG opens the JPG tool, a PNG the PNG tool, and so on. Settings, preview and download all happen on that page, still in this tab.
Compare and save
Drag the divider, pick a quality or a target size, then save locally. Nothing was uploaded, so there is nothing to delete later.
The home page routes any file we can compress, including code, fonts and ZIP archives.
Questions
How do I compress images without uploading them?
Drop them on this page. The file is read in your browser and routed to the matching compressor on this site. There is no upload endpoint, so the image never becomes a request.
Which image formats can I compress here?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and ICO are live today. TIFF, AVIF, HEIC and PSD are on the roadmap: drop them and they are packed as a ZIP until those compressors ship.
Will compressing an image ruin the quality?
You choose. Every image tool shows a before and after, and you can aim for a quality setting or a target size. If the result is not good enough, raise the quality and run it again. The original never left your device.
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes. A batch of JPEGs queues on the JPG page. A mix of image formats, or a type that is not live yet, goes to Create ZIP rather than being skipped.
Is this image compressor free?
Yes. Compression runs on your own machine, so there is no per-file cost, no account and no watermark.
